About me
Kala Allen Omeiza is a neurodiversity advocate and author of four acclaimed books exploring culture, accessibility, and AI ethics. Her upcoming book, Soul Food and AI, explores the ethical implications of generative AI among underserved communities.
In 2022, Omeiza was named the first Black female Founder Fellow at South Park Commons in Silicon Valley, where she helped lead the development of a technology startup later valued at $5 million. The venture focused on leveraging emerging technologies to empower small businesses and underserved entrepreneurs in Kenya and Nigeria through accessible digital infrastructure and innovation.
Omeiza previously served as a researcher at Duke University’s Brain Imaging and Analysis Center, Harvard University, and Harvard Medical School, and as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar at the WHO Collaborating Center. She holds degrees from the University of Oxford and Miami University, where she was also a Division I athlete. Through her writing and public advocacy, Omeiza continues to champion a more inclusive future where emerging technologies are accessible and ethical for all communities.
